Lerato Dune.
Afro House, DeepCape Town, ZAAfro house for the hour the sun goes down.
// Biography
Lerato Dune is a Cape Town DJ and producer who plays afro house at sunset pace: 120 to 122 BPM, log-drum basslines, vocals in isiXhosa and English, and percussion recorded with musicians from her own street in Gugulethu.
She started at house parties, then built a following with Low Sun Sessions, a weekly Sunday at a beach bar in Muizenberg that ran for three summers. Her first European booking, in 2024, was the sunset slot on a beach stage in Portugal; in 2025 she played eleven festivals in five countries.
Her debut EP, Low Sun, came out on Southern Ember Records in 2025. When the stage allows, she plays with a live percussionist.

“She timed the drop to the sun. It was not an accident; she had checked.”
“Low Sun is a record for the drive home as much as for the beach.”
