Lounge · Nu-Jazz · Deep HouseDubai, AEDinner-to-late sets for hotel bars and rooftop restaurants.
// Biography
Kabir Noor has held hotel residencies in Dubai since 2016: five nights a week, sunset to midnight, in rooms where the music is meant to be noticed only when it stops. Born in Mumbai, he trained as a sound engineer before he ever played a set, and it shows in his levels.
He reads a room by its conversation. Dinner is downtempo, nu-jazz and bossa; when the tables turn into a bar he moves into deep house and soulful edits, without anyone seeing the moment it happened. At weekends he plays with a saxophonist.
He also programmes the daytime music for lobbies and spas, and keeps a library of 9,000 tracks tagged by tempo, mood and how loud they can go.
